Please respond!

this should be perfect for a secretary's website, but its ok, I like it

"I don't know if its been done before???"
are you fitting?
- armed_rob0
he he...
- abizzyman0
make it look more like a word processing program -
... good idea - i've never seen it.
I think you should even rip off aspects of word processor's icons etc.
sorry - not rip... but 'use in a clever way'.
I like the idea. Keep going!

was getting all ready to be like "dude, that's a site layout, not really an idea"
but that's pretty clever and i haven't seen it (though surprising), go with it!
- armed_rob0
thanx abizzyman
but i dont wanna make it too complicated whit all those icons and stuff...
My idea was to do a simple "open menu box" when loading
- abizzyman0
cool, armed_rob....
... just make sure that the user isn't thinking that they're on a sewing site or some sort of Taylor's site...
... cuz that's what I thought at first. I wouldn't have known if you hadn't told me that it was for a writer... so that's why I suggested you push the Word Processor theme a little more heavily.
- armed_rob0
sure...
well this is just a quick layout/idea test!

I quite like it.....for some reason I expected the rules to be interactive.......!?
- abizzyman0
WOW SAVE!!
that's be cool if you found a way to perhaps use the rules (maybe with some sort of mask) to control perhaps the navigation...
... great idea, save.
- menia0
actually I have seen this before only the theme was an old version of Adobe Illustrator. Its been used for a portfolio site (can't remember url sorry) but I think the guy was Spanish. It was really cool.

......try putiing a picture in the background to make it look more like a desktop.....dunno!? shit idea!?!? I guess it needs to look more like an applicatiion....
- armed_rob0
I dont think so (background picture), as I was saying I dont wanna make it too complicated - I like the simple look!
Nice idea with the rulers!

..........I agree..

would you do a website for yourself based on the photoshop or illustrator toolbars? I wouldn't.
Nothing about that site says "I am a copywriter' to me, I'd be thinking up some way of using some actual copy on there, after all thats what the guy does right? He's not a typist, maybe you could think of an idea and then ask the copywriter to come up with some err.. copy.. seems top make sense.
Designers sites show off their design, surely a copywriters site should show off... copy.
I think you could still use this idea but you also definately need to be thiking more about what it is you are actually communicating for your client and not producing self gratifying graphics.

......what rasko4 said.
- abizzyman0
maybe you could play off of the page scrolling that occurs in a word processor...
... have a simple dotted line as a line break. And a 'header' as the navigation. That header appears on every page w/ page number etc.
Page one could be the site intro text or the image as you have it.
Page two could be the 'about'
Page three the 'work history' and so-on...
... make it so they can scroll all the pages... or click the navigation in the page header to take them to the appropriate page (using anchors - or do it in flash and use an easing method).
just an idea. :)
- abizzyman0
yeah... i agree with what the guy's said above... except for the fact that this is a pretty original idea...
... graphic designers using the mac os look... or illus or ps is WAY overdone - but this is kind of new and clever.
I say go with it - but keep it clean / easy to navigate and most of all - on subject.
- armed_rob0
well rasko thanx for feed back!
Im thinking I have a really great idea here... and all I have to do is but the right text and the right picures/animations on it!
What do you think abuot having more pages (to make the scroll bar longer)?
- armed_rob0
but = put
;D
