Friends, Romans, countrymen; lend me your ear!
I gotta question, I suck at creating these very nice patterned bg's you all are doing. how, pray tell, or what is the best way at doing patterned bg's.

Hard work. In Adobe Photoshop Zoom in at the pixel level and use the pencil tool. Sometimes what helps is draw the background first in Illustrator and then redraw the design at pixel level in photoshop.

nice'n harsh, i like them:
http://www.bzzzp.net/ppat/browse…but you can use them as masks with nice light salady colors, i suppoooose

in photoshop, use filter > other > offset > set "wrap around" and if your images is 100*100 pixel set h to 50 and v to 50...
There is still work to be done, but atleast you have taken care of the edge all around take conect with eachother.

I know my weaknesses, building patterned pixel bg's is one of them. The other is relationships, I suck at those too. =]
