nice site btw.
- Mimio0
Yeah. Saabs are known for being problematic. They've cheapened them up in the last 5-6 years too. Should have bought a Beemer or a Mercedes.
- Soler0
care to elaborate mr. vague / jox?
thanks, visceral! oh, and it's Blake st. lots o' hotties at mynt, too. i like denver.
AND, Mimio-- sorry, would've bought a Mercedes or Beemer but didn't have the extra 10 grand

I'm not raining on your parade or anything, its a nice car but since you wanted to know I'll tell you what happened to me / friends - the air conditioner always break (ive seen it happen on plenty of 9000's, and a couple of '03 9-5's) , they STILL have rust problems, the gearbox is utter crap, and the auto is even worse on ALL models, and since they're not getting any funding from GM anymore, they might not be around in a few years so spare parts will be a disaster : /
My sources: I have an uncle working for saab and my partner drove a '02 9-5 until he realised what was goin on.

ineteresting jox...
well, it has a 50,000 mile factory warranty, and they must have some $ for r&d cause theyr'll releasing 2 new models this year.
- Mimio0
Not really, the Saab 9-7 SUV is a Chevrolet TrailBlazer.
- jox0
Yep, and the soon-to-be 9-3 wagon is a Subaru.
- Soler0
right, but do you really think they'll just drop saab?
seems little extreme, especially with such high name recognition
oh well, if they do, I've got a classic. and a fast ass turbo. lol.
- Soler0
damn, maybe i should have picked up a mercury sable.
- jevad0
lol
- jox0
Nah, not just like that but what I know for a fact is that they'll showly decrease production over a 5 year period until they start picking up, if they do. They haven't made any decent money in the last 8 years or so...
It's quite sad though, especially for me as a swede since it used to be the biggest export.
- Soler0
It seems like they have become way more respected since they redesigned the 93 and 95, ditching the hatchback look, etc. They also have dumped a crapload of $$ into ads on tv/print. the state of independence....blah blah
Hopefully it saves them. I've been a fan ever since the 9000 back in the day, so amped to have one today. love it.

well, if you ask me, the new 9-3 is suuuper pimp looking. Pretty cool lines.
- jox0
i agree, it looks great.

believe it or not, that actually works pretty well. Maybe not that exact tool, but the technique. I had my car in to get rid of some parking dents last week, and those guys used a tool similar to that.
You should check it out..
- Soler0
i don't know about that thing, it's right on the seam of the line on top of the door--
- jox0
ah, man you'd be surprised how good they are at what they do. I promse you, you won't see a thing when they've spent a few minutes on it. Especially on the door, which is the easiest place (since they can get it right from behind). Plus they all leave a warranty so they don't ruin anything.
- Soler0
so you're saying take it to a shop or pick up the tool?
id almost rather watch at the shop and then pick one up 4 the next time
- jox0
yeah, take it to a shop, they'll fix even the most complex dent like nothing. And ask them for a demonstration while they're doing it.
It's not that difficult really, and you can't make a dent "worse" by trying for yourself, it either stays put or plops out. It's even easier if the dent is "soft" - they just attach their little tool and then drags it out in l5 seconds.
Definitely check it out. You can't drive around with a dent! ;)
