I use Dreamweaver to put up my website. I do not know anything about HTML...
The page that I am trying to put up is titled index, and there are 3 frames, heading, navigation, body. I have text on the navigation that links to images that will open on the body.
When I upload all the files, it won't let the navigation file load and says: "An FTP error occured-cannot put navigation.htm Access Denied. The file may not exist or there could be a permission problem"
Anyone know what I should change or do or try. I feel like I have tried everything...but am sure I have not...

Well, considering I dont know anything about where you ftp'd your site to, I can only assume that you should change the navigation.html to navi.html or something. I bet that would fix your porblem. Of course if its a itsyou.com site you might want to check with your tech help which you should have gotten with the itsyou.com domain.
Hope it heeeeeeeeeelps

jeebus - it could be any number of things...I would suggest picking up some basic html before you start mucking about with DW...

yeah don't use DW to write all your HTML for you. Its worth knowing some basics so you can go in there and clean up the code after DW is done with it

ya, I do have to agree with them on that, learn a little html first, but if your in a rush try to keep the code and design window open and play with the html to get an idea of what each tag and property does. You defently want to learn some html. Some jobs require their employees to hand code still.

Yeah, thanks for the info...I agree I should learn more HTML...but I needed to get something up to show a client...I checked a lot of forums and found a few things out...I did check with my provider...I ended up changing the names, starting the files from scratch and then deleted the old files off the server and then reinstalled them as a new name...with all of that...it worked...but I have to figure this mx out a bit more...I just upgraded to osx and each program I am used to has its issues...well anyways, thanks for the help. I got what I needed for now...gotta read up on this...

Make sure you have the MX update installed too.

I dunno man - what are you doing building websites if you don't know rudimentary html? It's like...I would go and try to build a house for someone jsut cos I could read the plans for it you know?

I hear ya...I don't design web pages and don't plan to...I just made the site I use to show my work..and to show my work to clients...I just know the basics to do that...I will leave the web designing to the web designers...

That came off a bit dickish - sorry. I wasn't trying to say you shouldn't learn by any means..I was just trying to imply that by learning some html basics now you could save yourself a world of pain later!
I learned a lot of what I know now simply from trial and error and looking at other websites html to see how it all worked - hacking it about and using html help forums...but that was because back then there wasn't even half the resource there is right now out there on the web.

No Worries...I agree, I really should learn more...I am finding out that now that I upgraded to osx, I have to relearn a lot of stuff...everything is getting upgraded faster than I can keep up...but I am surviving...today was just a rush day with no way to show my stuff...so I was trying to find the quick fix...
