Vertical text on web sites. Anywhere on the page unless it's artwork and the text is basically abstract and arbitary.
I hate vertical text so much I can't even describe it. When it's in a site nav. I just want to puke blood.

I would ban Exopolis for the site they've made for Universal Studios... Bag of crap.

Pretentious pictures of people in all black with too much eyeliner either looking up at nothing or looking down at nothing.

Oh yeah, that and heroin chic make me wanna smash some heads. The heads of those who started all that shit.

i wish the internet looked like how it did in 1997, just for one day. like when hotmail had that ugly 70s office building yellow in as the table color and no css was used.
and how there was no php ish so if you bookmarked a particular section, the whole url address would be displayed, not just the name of the url.
i miss javascript mouse trails
i miss hotlinking geocities
i miss those gopher looking sites so you could easily browse pics in their directories
i miss forced flash intros with alpha tween whoring
i like some square cars, well thats not true, i love the rounded ones first came out, but then u see it everywhere and get bored.
i cant wait for 3 months when rappers look back and laugh at themselves for wearing pink
and i hope fruit of the loom becomes the new von dutch

I'm with GSD...
"Designers who think they're curing cancer".
I often like to divorce myself from design. To me, it just pays the bills. If a client wants 'comic sans' they can bl**dy have it.
My blood pressure aint worth the arguement. Just write the cheques and I'll push the mouse.
There's no revolution here. I'll leave that to the Hoxton whores...
- zedvox0
that was ugh
- gsd0
right on hutch - try your best, then after muchos arsing about with a stubborn, shite client - realise that people need paying at the end of the month and so do you - I used to literally live for design, then I grew up. I still love it but I have a life now and design is probably low on the list of importance right now apart from the fact that it's a good job to have compared to a lot of other peoples
- hUtCh0
Yup. I'm glad to have a job that enables me to 'make and create' things. It's a satisfying career path...
I also like being self employed and I love being able to work at home and sit in my Pj's, listening to my music making okay money to spend on the weekend.
Not a lot of jobs can offer you that.
But I'm realistic. My effect on the world of design is zero. And I'm happy with that. :o)
Long live Mr Average Designer Jo!
- MLPROJECT0
that's a comfortable route, but i feel like making a couple waves.
- zedvox0
a designers job is to help the client or whatever project you undertake achieve the best possible solution .
its not a service porofession but rather a profession where were are paid and hired to think an dcome up with creative solutions.
