our company doesnt do much print work, but we recently accepted a job for an existing client to do 20' x 8' mural design for their new office...it will be printed on some sort of canvas...does anybody have any tips or tricks for me working on a file so big?..i have a gig of RAM, but only a AMD 1.3Ghz, XP...any advice is appreciated....

speak to your printer first, find out what res you can get away with, find out if its all going to be printed on one roll or tiled, then decide how you split up the image, you cant be producing an image 20 feet wide at 300 dpi, likely they will ask for artwork at 25%

yeah, a lot of times they print at either 100 or 120 dpi when it is that large.
you can create it in Illustrator (vector) to keep file size down, otherwise you may need software to blow up your photos if you need them that large
