Okay, so I want to get a Digital Camera. I'm trying to decide between an S50, S410, and S500. Any preferences and why? More importantly, anybody willing to sell theirs for around 300 max?
Just checkin'

i just (today) got my s50 in the mail. its a great camera. i really wanted something that was 5 mp, but small, and of course inexpensive.
i looooove it

I got the s45 (basically the same as the s50) last year, not bad though kind of wish I went with a G series or something similar.
The manual features are a waste of time. Battery life isn;t the greatest either. But if your looking for a good point and shoot not bad.

the s45 is same as s50, except it is only 4 mega pixels.
the main reason i went for the s50 was compact size, i do not want to lug around a normal size camera.

I'm considering the S50 vs. the S410/S500. Wondering how you guys and gals enjoy them?
The S500 seems to be really, really expensive no matter what, and haven't found anyone selling a used one. It it also the best of the three.

i have the S50, my dad has the S40... we both like them. ya, battery sucks, kinda heavy but otherwise pretty good. i don't know about the other one but the S50 you can add aftermarket lens w/ an adapter. manual stuff is fine for me. focuses really well up to 10cm. would be better w/ one of those flip out screens so i can take pics over peoples heads. great quality pics. check out http://www.dpreview.com for comparisons of cameras

what kind of battery life do you get on the s50?

battery life depends on what i'm doing... if i'm using manual features like man focus and using high file size, it dies before i can fill my 256MB card. i bought an extra battery for CAN$50. if i use small file sizes and let it do auto everything, lasts for a few hundred pics. i also hardly ever use the flash. doesn't really need it half the time, great autoexposure even in really low light.
