since I'm already on here, I need to ask another question.
why does the colors shift from Illustrator and Photoshop?
I created something in CMYK in illustrator and then copied that image and pasted it into a photoshop CMYK document and the colors aren't the same.
what gives? ARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!

didjoo check the numerical color values (CMYK %)?
are you sure they actually are different.

yeah, they're different.
the shift is subtle but I can tell the difference and can verify it with a change in the CMYK and hex values.

have you checked to make sure the document color mode in illy is CMYK? (file > document color mode > cmyk color)
Sometimes in Illy - you can be adjusting the cmyk values of an object - even though the document is in RGB format. It's an annoying feature, just make sure that both docs - in both programs - are CMYK.

I just tried recreating the color shifting problem on my home computer, and it seems just fine.
that means somethin's wrong with my office computer!
