Took delivery of an iBook on saturday (and yes, I know they have just bumped the range up a little today, grr, but i NEED it for thursday) and I've been having problems with the screen.

Its kind of flickering, mostly on green/yellow tints. tried recharging/emptying battery, reinstalling software and it was still doing it. Then I plugged it into my monitor and what was flickering on the iBook wasnt flickering on the monitor, leading me to believe its a hardware problem.

Came into work this morning to ring the suppliers and Apple, and it wrks fine! They will only replace it if Apple certify it as DOA, but if Apple take it away and it doesnt flikcker then surely whey wont certify it as DOA.

The b*stard about all this is i NEED it for thursday this week, so I aint got time for Apple to be taking it away etc, only to send it back.

Has anyone else ever had problems with iBook screens?

Where you at? My iBook went to apple 4 times for the LCD. 1) white spot 2) sent it back to me with a LCD that was internally scratched 3) screen flickered 4) screen still flickered. As of right now, I believe it is all finally fixed. The best way to get them to fix it is to record a quicktime movie of it occurring.

Mine would flicker all day, then not the next. Flicker for an hour, then not the next.

If you can't record a movie for it, goto an Apple store when it is happening. Show the genius. Tell them you need to have the logic board replaced and lcd reconnected. Have them write explicitly in their description: "THE SCREEN FLICKERS REPLACE THE LOGIC BOARD AND REPLACE LCD"

    That should be good.
