I love the concept, and the execution is pretty good. Couple things bother me a little, those would be: impact does not make a good body copy type choice (something a little lighter, and possibly with more leading would be nice [maybe try even justifying the text]), the out of focus blur (especially on the picks - which also look more beveled than they naturally would be) seems sort of automated - like you just went into photoshop and did gaussian blur, which doesn't quite feel natural; kinda awkward looking actually. The shadows and floating are done pretty nice though. Definitely like the concept.

hot shit! thats bloody nice - wicked style and motion - agree with phat about the swoosh noises and impact is a horrible type for body copy like that...other than that - its a winner

Yep, it's a beauty...but I couldn't help but agree with atomica...not that I want to be critical...cuz it's so nice.
But yes, the copy is very difficult to read because the font is too strong. Also agree about the pics...could be more authentic. As for the sound efx....not bad, but I think something thematic like varying guitar licks would be a nice alternative.

nice, only thing i do not like is after the intro animation you have to click on the star to bring up the menu, seems unneeded, go right to the menu. every click counts.

maybe when you close a section have it transition out similarly to the trasition in rather than having the section just disappear...when i close a section i have to click on the nav once to reactivate it, then the next click will work...when "choose a pick" is on the screen there are no picks visible, just bring up the nav right away to solve that...maybe more of a sound like fingers sliding over strings rather than an actual guitar lick
