I need to create a flash sliding viewer similar to the one here:
http://actionscript-toolbox.com/…But I will be using over 100 images and I don't want to do create the strip of images by hand because updating it will be a real bitch. I want to use XML! I've found examples of XML being used for "static" slideshows, but I would like to find a way for the images to place themselves in a row in the sliding mc dynamically, or maybe I can specify their coordinates in the XML?
This is crazy I know. Anyone know how to do this or where I can find code samples for this?
Anyone?

#Make the XML file
#parse it using the XML object:
contentXML = new XML():
contentXML.onLoad = function(sucess){
parseXML();
} else {
trace("bollocks!");
}
]contentXML.load("myXML")
use a for in loop inside the parsing function to extract the information/location regarding the thumbnails/images.
update their _x position with something like
this["thum"+i]._x=this["thum"+(i...After the loop initiate a setInterval that slides continuosly.
good luck.
