Anyone know anything about what it's like to be a graphic designer at NIKE Portland?

they like to give themselves funny titles like "director of energies" and dumb shit like that. they dont like it when you ask if they are the in house yoga instructors or just trying to make their real title of "marketing director" sound more "edgy." but i suppose thats why they make the big bucks....to flow that "nike energy" around. they are also really good at not calling people back and wanting you to work for free. BOOM!

apparently you have to move to Portland on work on Nike stuff .. pffft .. no thanks

you get paid about a dollar a day and you disappear when you mention the word union.

So did you work there or work for them at one point? i am interested in knowing more about how they handle the design (not on shoes) but on sites and advertising and all.

naahh, went through months of "roundtable conference calls" and lots of sweet talking and back patting. i got a bit sick of the runaround so i just said "forget it." my favorite question of theirs throughout the whole process was "you do know that we are ahuge multinational corporation, right? we may do things you might not agree with or feel comfortable with. are you ok with that?" haha...classic. but yeah, as a whole, i thought they were pretty silly. but if you can get in there, im sure it would be cool, but not really too well paid. like mtv, they can get any kid off the street to come and do their stuff for free, why pay you? and there really isnt shit in beaverton. but iff you like to hang out in the woods and smoke dope and be part of the huge multinational child labor posing as hip youth market machine...get on it!
