Dont get me wrong, It was good. A lot better than all that other schlock hollywood puts out. But yes, I do think it recieved more praise than what was due...

I understood the movie and all it implies, But it's not my style of movie. I hae watched it about 3 times though. Trying each time to understand it a little more. I give it 7.5 stars eventhough it is a bit slower and less dialogue than the movies I like.

i didn't really get it the first time i saw it, but after watching it again i loved it.
what was she hanging up from the ceiling in her hotel room? it looked like some kind of origami mobile...

I'd like some people who dislike this film to compare it to others, just out of curiosity of their tastes.

one2meny - a'ight...great point too.
187, I think that's fair.
veranda -- yes, a mobile, not sure on the origami, but def. paper shapes.

I watched "Once Opon a Time in the West" last night. Its a top five easliy ever. I think all the dialogue can fit on two sides of one page of a legal pad.

Funny, I saw it Sunday night :) It's a filmed opera, a masterpiece in style. Kicks ass! The Good, The Bad & The Ugly is still my fav Leone, but Once Upon A Time is another top notch, fundamental spaghetti-western.

i'm sure this has been answered in previous posts, but obviously i'm too lazy to read all of them. the director of bottle rockets, rushmore, and the royal tannenbaums was wes anderson. his next movie is a semi biography of jaques cousteau (of which he has a strange fasination with )starring bill murray. and lost and translation was excellent. there's more to a movie than dialogue.

I agree this movie is overated!
i'm suppose to feel sorry for a guy thats getting paid 2 million to do a commercial in japan. Give me a fucking brake. What he needs is to stay home and take on more challenging roles.
He's a sucker in my book. And the girl, another sucker. Boo-hoo your in a rad hotel with a rad pool by yourself , oh the tragedy. Fuck philoshopy. You expect philosphy to hold your hand in life? Get a job bitch!people struggle to get by in the world and i'm suppose to feel bad for these to fucks. Spoiled uninspired people. Empty Movie.

Yeah thong, if they knew the value of a dollar like you do, then they'd be happy people!
right?

people citing the beauty in the simplicity are brainless designers

fate your not that bright, these people in the film are empty.
i don't like empty characters.
- fate0
Don't insult my intelligence just because you like making stupid points yourself. The characters are empty because...they don't find the value of money in life like you? Is that what you were trying to say? :D
- fate0
You do realize you contradict yourself, correct?

i'm not talking about money. read my post.

Oh my mistake thong.

You denied it was about money when I just posted your bitching about how people can mope even when they're living comfortably. Maybe you need to read slower.
