Outta' character, I say.

LOL, poor Korean guy got punched out of nowhere...

ya, out of charactar for sure... a more believable drawn out tansition to the dark side would have been ideal. I mean c'mon, oh... I have a headache, I'd better kill this guy that is trying to hand me my dream.

yeah, that was strictly a shock-value tactic there. no rhyme or reason. i guess the writers said to hell with character development.

man,
that episode dragged.

Yeah, What happened? I feel like I'm watching a chick soap opera. With all of this family shit.
I still watch waiting for something good to happen. Tony almost pops Chris' head off last week and now they are best friends again? I don't get it.

For me, a big letdown from the excellence of the previous episodes. Felt like a completely different set of writers and a different director

It might have been a bit out of character, but was the guy not in prison for 20 years?...
- heavyarms0
I don't really see how it was out of character. We don't really know anything about him other than that he was a violent mafia criminal and was in prision for the last 20 years. Now he's trying top go straight. It seems that it was only a matter of time before he snapped.
I wonder if the guy died. The fish gasping for air seemed to be a clue that he did.

it's called good writing.....something missing from over stylized, unwritten, or written by God nonsense.

i think the 'fish out of water' best explains the character arc as it pertains to buscemi's character an mrs. soprano....
- gfro0
Geez, and I just thought the fish fell out when the guy fell in. And it was a nice shot to end on.
What about the packages falling out of the back of the delivery truck when it was stolen? Could that mean that his love for the 'mob' was stolen and the dropped packages were his hopes of being the Boss one day?
P.S. -I'm a closed minded prick.
- loudubs0
could be, but it's all bad news fro tony anyway.....

Good point about the fish out of water have many different meanings, ie Carmela. I didn't even think about her when I saw that.
It's true though the show has tons of hints and symbolic meaning. You'll even notice even more if you go back and watch them all again from the beginning. I have a friend who is a pretty analytical person and we can get into deep conversations about the show.
He can point out a lot of things I didn't even think of.

I can't really stand AJ but that was awesome when they almost fought and he told Tony, "I'm gonna beat your f**ing ass one day"

I think Tony B. hitting the Korean guy and getting in a fight with him is one of the worst moments of the season. I think it was great that he was getting going on the straight and narrow was commendable, and an interesting storyline. His playing poker and getting backed by the mob guys, but not being a part of their business was interesting.
Then he just freaks out because he's tired from working all day.
Well, alot of people work all day to make their dreams happen, and wasn't he going to stop doing the laundry runs after the parlor opened anyways?Really stupid. Hope next week is better.
- monoblanco0
really stupid?
thats the whole point!the dude tried to turn his life around by becoming something he never was.
i thought it was brilliant.

I get your point mono, but there's also something admirable in turning your life around for the better.
Although Tony Soprano doesn't really adhere to that, it's definatly a big theme in his charecter-his struggle to be the family man with his wife and kids while also being a mob boss and feared by everyone for who he is.
Christopher struggled with it too.

Another thing is that with these guys the slightest altercation or insult can end in murder. Remember the Russian, the waiter, the dancer, etc.
