Is it a status image status thing or am I jealous?

Here's the scenario:
My nephew just bought a 2004 Type S Jaguar(http://www.jaguarusa.com... but he's only 21. Yes, he still lives with his parents in Los Angeles, Ca. and he works as a web programmer. Am I jealous or upset? Upset cause his parents let a 21 year old purchase a Jaguar at his age? Or jealous because I to am a web developer and I'm trying to buy a house, which I think would be more pratical than buying a luxury vehicle? Or maybe I'm in the wrong forum and need to go the a pchyic instead? Thanks for understanding.

If it's any consolation 90% of us are more in your situation than is.

Don't worry about what other people are financing when they still live with their parents.
Maybe he needs somewhere to get laid since he doesn't have an apartment.

It's just a material object. Here's something better to consider: Would you really be a happy person if YOU had the car?

just wait till he tries to pick up a girl and take her back to mom and dad's house in the jaguar..... taking a girl back to your parents house only works if you're dating girls under 18. a house and a clean car are much better than a luxury car and mom and dad's place trust me.

yeah most def, he will have a sweet car but no where to take the ladies :P
anyway I think it says a lot about him as a person and a bit more about you too.
I think you're worried about things that people should worry more about these days.
I've just turned 20 and I'm looking to set myself up, not just the bling, yeah?

Hey, thanks for all that have responded. So my next question would be, is it his parents to blame? How would any parent let they're own son buy that type of car at that age? My Dad laughed at me when I told him I was gonna buy a porsche. He said if you can afford to buy a sports car of that value you can afford to move out. Then I feel guilty cause maybe I should be the concerned uncle and tell his Dad "Do you know what the !@#cking hell your doing to your son?" not to that extent but, you get the idea.
