Hey all,
I'm writing an estimate for a guy in Japan and I'm currently in the US...
Anyone have any idea how much design goes for over there?
Any input would be very appreciated.

just charge your normal rate converted to yen. what are you worth? charge it baby.

I'm in Japan, but without some more detail on the project it's hard to give a cost.
Some freelancers we use for basic design and HTML charge around ¥3,000 (28US$) per hour. Better designers and creative directors, more like ¥7,000 (66US$) per hour. Project rates can be very different though.

They take anything that is lame anywhere else, copy it in a weird way, spit it out and BING its cool.

Geith, I met someone when I got here and started work as the only designer in his staffing company. Then got more and more work so hired the people I needed and within 2 years I had 20 people and some good clients....
Thats it.
If you're prepared to work 340 hour months to make something happen. It happens I guess.
I let the others do the work now...!
