Chick Job

So I’ve come to the conclusion that by job as a designer-whatever is a “chick job.” After watching several episodes of “Monster Garage” and “Rides.” I’m saddened to the fact that I can’t fabricate anything or make a nice ride from metal.
I should have been a mechanic, so damn you Apple Computers.
Does anyone else feel this way?

Buddylee, I get that feeling every spring. But every winter I am glad that I work behind a desk and not in a metal shop. I used to paint bikes for standard bmx, awesome job but barely paid the bills.

what does it have to do with design? so do you think lawyers, accountants, stock brokers, computer programmers are all grease monkeys on weekends?
I don't know how to make a NASCAR engine from scratch, but I definetly know how to change parts when i need to.
It's not our fault you are a wimp, which has nothing to do with your profession. What do you call AAA when you get a flat tire on the road too?? wuss!

Seems all print design place i've worked at had a lot of women. All the web design places i've worked had a lot of men. And when I was freelance, the place had too many crazys. Go figure :P

build something. if you can do design, design something 3d (NOT a graphic tee and NOT one of those fuckin stuff toy things) and build it.
I ruined my back and my dining room table building furniture in my apartment but it was worth it.
in fact, if you can do design, you can prob. build shit better than those monkees on TV,
