Saw it last night.

I don't know. I'm sure I built it up too much in my mind, but it seemed like Braff just contrived some really beautiful imagery & dialog, & threw them together in a story that I regularly found to be slow. Seemed a little fixed to me.
I did enjoy it, though. Especially the soundtrack. Natalie & Zach were unbelievably charming. I love movies about people changing into better people.

I'm going to NJ on Wednesday to go see it!

Saw it last night.
I thought it was a wonderful film. I really enjoyed the use of music in it. The characters were quirky but believable.
I wish more films would play like this on the screens in my neighbourhood.

I enjoyed it until it fell apart like a soggy graham cracker in the last half hour

Whoa, just got back from seeing it moments ago.
I'll give my two cents and say that it was good, but I'd like to see it again to make a better judgement.

saw last night. lots of hoodies and trucker hats in attendance (when will you kiddies get a clue). I felt like we were there to chaporone. It was good. Until the last two scenes (lets explain everything , 6 times and wrap it all up nicely). Worth seeing it. If you've seen the trailer more than twice you're screwed because all the good stuff's in there.
I get the comparisons to The Graduate. It has to do more with the first half hours vibe, and editing tricks and soundtrack. Otherwise, there's no comparison. NJ looked good, as per usual.

enjoyed thoroughly until the sappy as hell ending. heard braff wrote in his character to die in the plane crash (a la the beginning of the film) but the studio said no. apparantly there were a few different instances in the film that the studio made him change... too bad, hope it's on the dvd. him dying made more sense / wouldn't have made it seem so hollywood. portman's acting is amazing.

let's not start up another trucker hat thread geez. I thought the movie was a solid movie, I agree that if the main character were to die it would've made a little more sense, Natalie Portman had a great role in this and played it amazingly. The story was done well, I didn't think it was drawn out or slow. soundtrack was pretty good; shins, postal service. good stuff. nice acoustic rendition by the postal service too. I suggest watching it.

i saw it last night and loved it, even going in with high expectations. it wasn't slow for me. in fact, when the credits rolled my immediate response was that the movie seemed really short, but maybe that's just me. the acting was good, including the sappy ending, which while a bit cliche, was a good way to end what was in my opinion a slightly depressing film. also, i was really impressed with Zach Braffs work given the fact that he wrote, directed and starred in his first film.

looks like a good film.
