if you click on a finish the color of the cabinetry changes....was this all done in photoshop? to each color change? ....
I am doing a website for a large cabinetry company.... they are wanting to do this for their entire selection (100's+ of colors) I need to know what to quote
any help would be much appreciated!

just individual images/photos

yeah, i would guess you make paths of the cabinets or whatever and use levels, color balance or curves to achieve the result. similar to car sites where you can change the color, i'm guessing they do similar things. it'd be too hard to match the shot using different objects, environments.

Not really.
You could do that type of thing in Flash.
Uno momento. I'll whip something up.

i have a friend who did something like that with the outside of a house. he did it in flash, and put colors over a base image. and some photoshop work.

definitely just photoshopped, kinda poorly too. Watch the apples change to mutant grapes when you switch colors.

my guess is photoshop Hue/Saturation, Levels, layer blends, etc...

curves or levels should work finr,
it's not like they're different photos, or anything tricky.

Given that the grain on the wood never changes, I would say that it is faked in photoshop... would be easiest. If you really wanted to be savvy.. you'd shoot the photos with wood that is coloured 50%grey - then you cuold create standard curve setups in photoshop to get the exact colours you want.

"You could do that type of thing in Flash.

it is badly photoshopped indeed.
but if you want to do it better, it is a hell lot of work.

Not really. This took me about 5 minutes. I found the color picking component at Flashcomponents.net, but you could limit the colors to a defined palette.

black magic
- nospacebar0
It could be whatever color magic you choose, am i rite?
- stewart0
okay flashmagicdesignslave
now do your trick with different wood textures.
- stewart0
you should wear pink shirts.

yeah, i like what nospace is doing. if you're going to make this thing in Flash i'd say go that route, tweak it a bit to make it look good, but this would save alot of memory/loading times

Yeah changing finishes is a lot more than change a hue.

lmlo for sure.
ooh, that hurts.
