Not sure about cheapest but i always use CopyStop on Wardour St. Not a rip off and pretty good results. never done black and white though?

actually I just went round to copystop and they're not bad.. over 10 A1 for £1.70ea, 1.50 for A2

Where can I get good quality (continuous tone mid-grey background) business card printing from a PDF file?
(Copystop did digital prints but it had a dot pattern. I'm told digital prints dont neccessarily have to have a dot pattern, can be continuos tone like offset printing or color laser)

you need somewhere with a digital heidelberg probably, there was a place called printek just off haymarket but I dont know if its still there.
and it would depend how you pdf was made
