is certainly coming yes..
in 20 years from now, will our walls be decorated with e-wallpaper?
video everywhere?
my thoughts after a night out and a few too much beers, but still an interesting idea, no?

Today I was just thinking about animated badges (I make badges). No more print issues, just a lil' circular LCD (or whatever technology) screen with a small HD in the back containing various designs. That'd be hella cool. And would make things easier for me (I hate working for print, I love working for on-screen displays).

as long as M$ doesn't conquer it with software monopoly..
it'd be better to be able to make self containing systems like flash-projector or director..
whn epaper evolves and gets affordable (mass production) the creative possibilities will be almost endless!
:)

I'll conquer it before MS! Gonna kidnap a programming nerd and create a software monopoly for e-badges. And then I'll conquer the world. Or else.

epaper has been around for a quite some time now.. and the link you showed is acctually the older technology. They already have working ink for the 3 colors needed to make a tv and have prototyped watches and plastic panels made with this ink.
They retrofited an epson printer and honestly just printed the ink onto plastic and ran electricity through it however they figured out how to do that.
they estimate that the e ink-epaper technology will grow from like 10 mil in 06 to like 200 billion plus in the next 7 years or so.

if we take it to the extreme...
in a few decades our kids will have the same pile of paper on their desks as i do, but then it's all moving pictures, and loading data etc..
and a tax bill that screams at ya: payday!! payday!!
poor kids!

I can't wait to watch dr. phil on my toilet paper. Also, album art that can play the band's music videos?
