Anyone here allowed by their company to take home copies of sofware, with the work serial numbers....
You know, so you can work on office work at home, with the added bonus of having current software without buying it?
Not sure if this is legal or common......

I've done it, it's alot better than downloading it off of kazaa.

so there is no chance of getting in trouble by using the serial from the workplace? even if they don't know?

I know macromedia studio mx 2004 allows for two installs on one licence, one office install and one home install.
They shouldn't ever be run at the same time and they both have to be the same platform, but those are the only legal restrictions they place.
Although this is the first time i've come across it with any software.

It depends on where you work. If you work for a government agency, I wouldn't even take home a paper clip.
Talk to your supervisor first. Even though it's probably not a big deal, you don't want to get caught stuffing software into your backpack w/o asking first.

i'd say that if you're using it for work purposes and as long as you're not passing it around to all your buddies, it'll be fine.

Thanks for the input, I'll have to ask my Creative Director.. ( man, he's so stuffy I almost feel weird asking)
