I just got myself a G3 800 Ibook new for £500 from pcworld
dropped in an extra 256mb and an airport card and i love it!
It's not going to blow you away with power but it does all I need it do and a bit more!

get the ibook...
the wife and i just invested in the 14 inch G4 933 one... it's magic...
runs everthing we'd ever want to run on it, Photoshop, Illustrator etc...
and forget about the aluminium... the ibook case is made from the same stuff as bulletproof glass...
so if you get shot at, and you're quick enough..., you'd be able to deflect the bullets... which is a bonus...

dont do it.get the 15 in powerbook... believe me.. you want the extra power. and upgrade to 1 gig of ram after you get it.. its alot cheaper.
dont get the ibook... the screens are not as good as the powerbooks, they are much slower, and they will become obsolete very fast.
the 1.25 powerbook rox...
