Hallo, I'm trying to connect my monitor to my flatmates imac. I opened up the bottom thingy to have a look for the connector... and subsequently shat myself. What do I do now? I can't see where I'm supposed to stick the external monitor plug. I read that I have to remove the internal imac monitor plug, but all i can see are wires and boards and scary things. Help me. Inept=ness.

You need to Google harder... Seems only some of the original series have a VGA port?

ahh shucks i read that one already... I have no idea about this
"Replace the vented cover with the VGA vented cover provided in the iMac accessory kit."
thanks anyway. Owch.

yea ribit.. i found all that. But read somewhere else that you can take the back off and unplug the internal monitor and then plug in the external.

"For detailed instructions on installing the VGA vented cover choose Mac Help from the Help menu."

I read about that internal port a long time ago... I think it might involve some part modifications or extra hardware... Maybe try Low End Mac or others like that on http://www.macsurfer.com
