Fresh. I like it.

i would increase the font on the smaller versions, when going to print this, (tshirts, posters, business cards) it may start getting lost. but it's def. fresh.

nice logo, but i dunno about the font... it looks kind of generic.

I think you are going for that paint slash looking thing. Maybe try and use Corel Paint for that then. It looks a little undefined so to speak.

I like it, but the organic nature of the swirl (ala lucent logo) looks prefabbed.... did you actually paint the stroke or is it from photoshop/illustrator? I've always found it best when wanting something organic, start with organic....

it's got quite the eastern/asian feeling about it doesn't it? don't know if jesus is totally down with the buddha, but hey... if the client likes it take the money and run.
- atomica0
jesus and budha go way back actually..... ;)

no money, pro bono thing.
the whole ideal about the logo is
momentum obviously. Which is a small group at RBC.the swirl is represents constant movement and energy in our Faith, always striving to what be closer to God.
(please hold your comments about faith and religion to yourself, unless you have something constructive to say)

Nice work, I like both the icon and the font. My only concern is that the RBC might be too light. It may get lost when printed small.

doesn't some huge computer company already use the painted circle?
- reaper0
are we going back to the swoosh?
- boolean0
Circles never really implied 'momentum' to me.
Something about how they turn in on themselves, never really going anywhere.
For what it's worth.

I'm sure Lucent wasn't the 1st or the only to use a painted circle as thier icon.
Thought you might find this interesting. It seems a painted circle is a traditional Zen Buddist Symbol.

stick with the solid mark, (the one with the color variation looks overworked) and rework the type.
the big font is too big and clumsy, especially when paired with that soggy circle. it might look better at a smaller size.
the second font is just way too small to read, especially since you put it in grey. try losing some of that unneccessary space between the letters and enlarging it and making it black so it's readable. it's the name of the client, after all.

funny that a buddhist symbol would be pitched to a christian client
- ganon0
the symbol doesnt work for me, it reminds me of a snake...i think with the end of the stoke seperating, that reminds me of a forked-tongue...it is most apparent in the smaller vector ones...so thats not good for a chruch...i would do more variations...and the size and color of the subtext is too light IMHO....

reminds me of lucent technologies logo kinda.....
i like the choice of color though...

thank you all for your input, I am going to rework the Swirl so it doesnt look so much like lucent, and rework the fonts.
this is just my first revision so it defiantly needs some finessing.
