i kinda like the tabs better, maybe im just old school. but the new look to me seems unfinished. somethings missing.

Pick up the current Newsweek with Google on the cover. Great article on search engine and the competition coming their way from Microsoft and Yahoo. Interesting read.
Microsoft is working towards something that will search the web while you're using their apps, it will search for words you are typing and somehow decipher the subject of what you're writing about.
Seems like it's to be included in their next OS.
But it looks like Google is far ahead of Microsoft in terms of search technology, and they kind of say that Microsoft is having a tough time coming up with something equivalent to Google.
And it talks often of Microsoft's efforts to "pull a Netscape" against Google in terms of search capabilities and dominance.Why can't MS just let someone be at the top?

the stark black visited links really strike me as odd when there logo is anything but black. CSS maybe?.. i wouldnt really call this a redesign either.

the "New!" is awful and pointless... as pretty much everyone on the www uses google everyday (don't they) they should notice something new in it. Why don't they put "Old!" next to everything else? Maybe they could make it blink? Or how about google with pop ups?

i dont understand how google is so fast. i mean it caches the internet and searches pdf and doc and returns this in about 0.0001 seconds.
