Im formating my HD, bu first I would like to save my contacts information (Adress Book) my bookmarks (Safari) and my old emails (Mail).
How do I do this?thanks

I think it's Home>Library>pick your topic, like Mail or Safari and copy your .plist somewhere safe. I'm not totally sure that's it because i think it was called something else in earlier versions of OSX.

easy way is to back up your library folder in your user dir. I've reformatted a few times and all I needed to do was to restore my library folder.
as for address book, mail and bookmarks, the important folders are application support, safari and mail within the library.

the .plist's doesn't matter, they're just app settings.
backup entire "mail" and "safari" folder from "~/library/". Then open addressbook, and drag all of your contact to a folder and backup that folder aswell. then you're all set :-)

what kpl said!
Everything you could possibly need is in your user folder...

You could also have used Apple Backup (if you have .Mac membership) to backup and restore all the settings, apart from Mail (can be setup as a Backup item).

hmm...
forgot the preferences are in library/Preferences/com.apple.ma... hope you backed up the whole library folder... heh. oops.
