I came out of that school. I'm not crap.
About 10% of the students actually knew what they were doing in design, and I'm trying to be modest in saying I was in that 10%.

I once worked with someone who had just graduated from there with an MFA in computer animation. Her reel was awesome. The problem was that she didn't know the simplest things. It turns out that her advisor was a lighting supervisor from Pixar, and he did all of the work. It was mind boggling.

I thought about going there too, actually. Ended up at the art institute of seattle. I would be pissed if I got expelled after dropping so much money on my education like that kid did.

Academy of Art University is a terrific school. I have friends that attend. The school has offered the many great opportunities for job placement with companies like Lucas Arts.
Yet as liberal and socially deviant as SF is, I am pleasantly surprised by the administrations handling of the situation. I believe the response was safe, proper, and not at all over-reactionary. Simple opting not to rehire the the teacher and dismissed the student was quite a conservative thing to do.
You many not want to attend AAU for the social environment of San Francisco and the people that inhabit her, but I would not fear the administration, for they are looking out for apparently.
