What the fvck happend?!
Maybe I never appreciated what Howard Stern and Mancow bring. It might not be ignorance but its a good violent shaking for anyone with a head on their sholders.
"One corporation owns the 5 major video channels in the U.S."; "98% of the bands signed to a major don't make a profit"; "Two radio conglomerates control 42% of listeners"; "The music industry releases 100 songs per week."
I distinctly remember a revolution was brewing approx. 8 years ago right before Nervana and Rage Against the Machine broke out and became hots#it.... then the radio gave my generation easily digestable pop music and complacently passified the younger generation with boy bands and the spice girls.
we have NO uniting front now. the revolution has to come from the top now.
is this our only hope from "a brave new world"?

i appologise in advance for whining and writing too much... forgive me.

Well, it's not all ONE corporation, it's actually 3 or 4. Disney/ABC, Viacom/NBC, CBS, and GE.
I just can't stand Korn either. I saw their cribs on MTV and they are all millionares.
Everyone knows that it's a monopoly. But, awesome shows seem to come into town more than ever, and more bands get put on and heard.

thank you unfittoprint....
i think everyone else in here is WAY to into their iPod and their diesel shoes to worry about this kinda crap

I dont know what you expect. There's loads of good music out there. It just doesn't play well on the radio. or MTV. Just cos, ur average person doesn't give a shit about music. Those of us who do, go out and find it.

- Mr_Jump0
Wot's a brown delta? How do the "terrorists" win if nothing changes?
- kinetix0

- MR_T0
I always thought a 'brown delta' was a name for the toilet bowl?
i.e. "Parking yours arse above the brown delta"

I reckon you should thaw out Nixon from the cryogenic freezer and put him back in the Whitehouse.
- kinetix0
Hmmm... not a bad idea.

No. I read about a chapter of it. I got it here on my book shelf - had it since i was 16!
And i haven's seen those ads. But i get what u mean... u weren't being literal. I think people shud download more music. I know it's a cliche talking about "the network" - but social production that cuts out corporations altogether. A bit weird talking about that on here - since designers thrive on profiting from their creative output. But i dont see why artists need to make gazillions out of their music. 93% more people download music than listen to the radio.
And 76% of statistics are made up on the spot ;)
