Silly question no 1 (more coming later): How do I duplicate an object, so that the copy comes in the exact place as the original.. in Freehand it's just shift+ctrl+D..
Anyone?

Edit->Copy, then ctrl+f, or command+f on mac... its like paste in position under the menus

Thanks!

yeah, command+f is paste in front, command+b is paste in back.

And thanks again!
I'm thinking of moving from Freehand > Illustrator after having using FH for like 12 years.. It's become so lame a software along with the few last updates. The last decent version was 8.0. I'm trying to get my illustration for a book cover ready 'til next monday and thought of making it with Illustrator..

Illustrators a great choice, but I think its a lot of personal preferrence with the GUI for people who choose either way. Some are more susceptible to create with Adobe GUI style than Macromedia, and vice versa. They have their ups and downs equally on a technical level, imho.

I like the perspective tool in freehand. Wish u got that in Illustrator.

There's a perspective filter aftermarket for Illy by KPT that rules, a lot more options than freehand

Serious? U got a Link?

illustrator cs has a rather nice built-in 3d thingy. freehand's for poofs. no offence.

do any of you guys know about attributes for vectors in illutrator? i only use illustrator 9 because of the fact that recent ill versions don't have anywhere to check this.
attributes can ruin your project.
