I can't believe the remake is soo good!
It's what 28 days later should have been.
They even kicked it up a notch with the introduction of the zombie baby.
Fucking well done movie!
Go see!

As a remake, it was horrible!
As a movie on its own, it was pretty awesome!

Yeah, it was pretty damn cool. that car accident at the start? that opened up the doors for the special effects of the movie. pretty cool stuff ;D
Can't believe my buddy and his girlfriend left before the opening credits!
Girls scare easily.

I really enjoyed it.
I thought the Burt Reynolds /Jay Leno / Rosie O'Donnell part was one of the funniest things I've seen in a while. And the title sequence was really awesome, done by Kyle Cooper and Prologue Films

i ended up renting the the old romero films to get a better frame of reference. plus the old man's from pittsburgh and filmed them here and i'm here...
original dawn makes clowns out of the zombies. slapstick on the escalator, youngstown hick target practice and so on.
was the original a commentary on american consumer culture zombies in the mall or just a comedy bloodbath?
the new dawn had a lot more impact. when the zombies smack the truck you really kinda feel the thump under the wheel.

the original was a commentary just like most of romeros films. now its pretty dated.
nice cameos from savini and ken foree ( is that right?)

I was presently surprised. It had some corny spots, but they can be overlooked. Very entertaining.

i agree. as a remake it was horrible. but as a movie it was well made and entertaining. i'm glad they didn't get rid of the ridiculous gross-out humor that made the first one great, but saying it's better than 28 days later is a bit of a stretch.
