And Sharon is also a war criminal. Don't know if he's actually been charged by the UN or they just thought abut charging him in the 80s. But he opened up the refugee camp he was running when Israel invaded South Lebanon and watched as Lebanese militias slaughtered Palestinians. Literally, Israeli soldiers looked on as Palestinian women and children (the men had been removed by the Israelis) were scalped in front of Sharon's eyes. Under the Geneva convention that makes him a war criminal.

Had Sharon been a real leader, had Mofaz been a real man, they would have announced in a clear, loud voice that in the next few weeks they would be travelling only in buses, eating in restaurants and travelling without body shields. There is no reason in the world why they should not share with the rest of Israel's citizens the great risk and blood they imposed on us. There is a limit to arrogance and cowardice.

I'd hate to see if Hamas did attack U.S. targets. It would get ugly real fast, with the U.S. probably retalliating with a bigAssed iron fist...
and then even more Muslims would hate the U.S. and in turn more Americans would hate Muslims.
vicious cycle, indeed. All because of an Israeli asshat's decision to take out a Muslim asshat.

I am glad I went over there when I did.

Sharon's actions only perpetuate this cycle of violence; however, Hamas isn't interested in land settlements. They want to destroy Israel.
It's a shame that everyone else on both sides has to suffer for the actions of terrorists.
- Mr_Jump0
Yes ofcourse everyone shud keep in mind that Hamas is against peace. But criticising Sharon isn't exonerating Hamas. There is an incontrovertible fact tho, that the action of a "democratically elected" leader of a nation state (Sharon and Likud) is pushing the Palestinians into the arms of the extremists. Something that is being done concsiously and purposefully.

Sharon is going to kill a couple more too- He can't justify pulling out and giving back territories to Palestine to the far right in Israel unless he takes out some Palestininan leaders as a final act of violence and hate.
Otherwise, he could never approve a peace plan in his own government. Really f'd up I know, but that's my theory. I hope that it works on some level and doesn't cause an all-out war and mass killing, but who knows?

lets be frank here, Sharon sets an extremely negative tone for Israel just as Bush sets a negative tone for the US. Sharon has the vibe of a power mad Walrus and Bush is a dry drunk Chimp.

Interesting theory. But it doesn't make sense. Because the far right would never consider conceding land (not that they would anyway) unless there was total peace on the Palestinian side. (i.e no threat of any suicide bombers from the Palestinians). These actions obviously increase that threat. Likud's aim is to humiliate and destroy the Palestinian ppl totally and entirely - and then force a "peace" upon whatever is left of "Palestine". Like Likud's tourism minister said "If the Palestinians want land - why don't they go to Mecca?"

i dont think they mean 'spiritual land'

I see your pint, but consider this: Unless Israel pull sout unilaterally, the Palestinians will continue to bomb and kill. As long as that happens, you're right, Israel will not stop killing either. However, if Israel gets in their last few major hits and then unilaterally pulls out, there is a chance it will be seen as an Arab victory as with Lebanon, and then peace would have a chance. The storm before the calm. As far as going to Makah, I hope thats a joke

hence, nobody wins....boy, at least the caveperson like attitude of "me right" "you wrong" will survive in the Middle East if nothing else will

U see my pint? Where?? I thought i lost it! oh wait, u mean point. i see ur point too. But i look at it from another point...of view. Because Israel is a fascist enterprise (Zionism was, ironically, one of the founding ideas behind Nazism), it can only exist in a state of war. If Israel makes peace, its existence will seem irrelevant and the project will begint to collapse. Thats why they assasinated Rabin. Cos peace was so very very close. And that Mecca thing is an exact quote of what Israels tourism minister said (he got assasinated couple of years ago).

I wish I could disagree but I can't. Looks like a never-ending cycle of war and death and hate and religous conflict. Maybe they should make it into
"Disney's Jerusalemland Theme Park" and then noone gets it at all.
- Mr_Jump0
Yeah. Human life's obviously not worth shit. Fuckin ideas seem to matter more. I say nuke em all. Solve one big headache for the whole world.

Mr_J: Can you exlpain to me how Zionism is one of the fonding beleifs behind nazism?
