  I do my dev on one box for each of these. No issues for me. Can run both server sofware on the same box too (for dev/testing).

  if you can afford it, i'd run it on two different machines... one linux for php/mysql and one windows for asp.net. i know php can run on windows, but when i was doing php on a windows machine there were suttle differences between the win php and the linux php.

  Depends.

  If you are a small hosting company with a few servers it is perfectly fine to run Windows 2000 or 2003 with IIS to host ASP, ASP.NET & PHP. PHP is not recommeded for commercial sites on Windows, it is still considered experimental and not completely secure like running it on *nix or *BSD
