Ok, What's the max resolution to use for desiging a site for 800x600 browsers?
Webmonkey says:
http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmon…
that 744px is the widest to use. But i've always done 750px.
So what's the best size?

I work to 760x420...

For 800x600 I've always used 780x420 as the maximum size...

744 wide, because IE for Mac at 800x600 will sometimes show horizontal scrollbars at anything higher.

744px wide - and anything below 410px may be below the fold...

760X420, what Dreamweaver says

Hmm...Losing 20 or so pixels is a lot just to make things pretty on IE for mac.

I agree, IE for the mac should just die like netscape 4. a few of the sales peeps in my office still have netscape 4 on windows 98. I made an intranet using css for text and positioning and they said 'why doesnt this work?'
because you are an idiot.

interesting stats...but just for the sake of IE5 on a mac I am not going to lose 20 px width! I design to 760w and will continue to do so....
