Currently, I have a Sony DSR-250 but it isn't entirely my own.
Plus, it's weighs like a brick.

One of my friends has two of those, he got one of them while still in college, when they were just out. It was one of the first digital cameras like that out on the market. This guy has an insane amount of equipment, he started a business doing filming and production. Wish I had a list of all his stuff.

I used the Model down from that at my previous job (GL-2), and it was excellent. that one is soo much better.
if you can afford it go for it! just make sure you do C.O.D. so you dont get screwed over

I've had the GL1 and XL1 (both great cameras).
Depending on your use - have your looked at the Panasonic AG-DVX100A
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/…It's been called the XL1 killer. Same price but this also shoots at 24 frame mode. The 24 frame "film look" straight out of the camera is astounding.
Which ever way you go - steer clear of Broadway Video (NY) They quoted the lowest price on the net but then added $350 shipping - and we are only 10 miles away!! Very shady dealings there

For an item that big when the seller has only sold one item before:
BUYER BEWARE!!!

I used a GL1 in school and just recntly purchased a vx2100 and love it. However if I could have afforded it I would have gone with the XL1. Having changable lenses must be nice.
