hi, i have a question about photoshop.
I have a black and white image on a layer... now, to get rid of the white on that layer i have changed the blending mode to "darken". So now i can only see the black.
Is there anyway i can now apply a color to the black section.
I tried mering the layer to an empty layer but then the blending mode goes, and the white section is seen again.
any help would be muchly appreciated.

Set the blending mode to "multiply"
In the "hue & saturation" colorize it, then make it lighter and play around.

thanks zach... however i was hoping to make the black selection a specific pantone or even CMYK.
i may have to manually select the areas i need? unless there is another way.....

yeah. you're gonna have to manually mask out areas to make it multiple colors.
if you start with a B&W image - all you can do is monotone, get it?
