Before any of you say "I told you so..."
Remember back in December I was posting about buying a Nomad Zen Xtra 30gb mp3 player by Creative?
Well, I did, and it's been great, until the headphone jack gave out last week, conveniently AFTER the 90 day warranty ran out.
After reading some 147 reviews on Amazon of this player, about every third review mentioned the headphone jack going out after a few months, so obviously a design flaw.
But since the warranty is expired, Creative is charging people around $100 to repair it, and it takes about a month.So...what do I do? Send it in to get it repaired and use a portable cd player in the meantime?
Or,
Spend $300 on an ipod 15GB and start over from scratch with half the storage capacity I have with the Nomad? It sucks, the Nomad is a great player, sound quality is excellent and I'm very attached with it.
I could afford the ipod, but don't know if I want to spend that much when I have other things I'm saving for. What to do?????
I know someone here can set me straight :)

mg33, I would go with an iPod, they are both PC and Mac compatible, etc. And you got it, more storage space. Sometimes you gotta' sacrifice, that sucks though about your Nomad.

Go to Best Buy or something, buy the same one and return it with the broken one inside for the cash back.

Don't buy an iPod. Fuck Apple.

Good idea D_Dot, although I took the thing apart last night, tried not to tear the "warranty voided" sticker on the inside. But it's already past the warranty anyways.
