I prefer a cheap $25 optical three button mouse from logitech because it has a LOW profile, not the humpy kind that Microsoft mice have.
that low profile makes it lighter, easier to move the mouse around and puts less stress on your clicking fingers.

Steer clear of wireless though as you'll need a morgage to keep yo9urself in batteries!
Wish Apple would bring out a three button wheel mouse :-(

I got the Logitech Cordless Freedom Duo Elite Supah Mecha Godzilla set..... and its great... (ok so not so many adjectives, but you get the jist) It's wireless, its optical, and i hate coming to this office and using this corded optical mac mouse.... meargh.

i replaced my mouse with a tablet a few months ago and haven't looked back.
the only time the mouse even touches the desk is when the programmers come over and need to do something. it's always prefaced by "god damn designers and their pens... cant just use a friggen mouse..."

I have a Logitech iFeel mouse. Optical. Works great.

agree, if you are doing any type of designing, a tablet is the way to go. i got one about 3 years ago and havent touched a mouse since.

I test all designs on mice before they become available for human consumption.

i bought this to use with my powerbook, my pb has built-in blue tooth and it was up and running in under a minute (no divers needed) no trancivers was a plus, it has five buttons, i have them controlling expose.
i recommend it. though i would have bought an apple mouse if they had more buttons and a scroll wheel. (i know this is useless but the mouse works from the next room too)
