broken popups

When I click on a link for a new window or popup, the window comes up but thepage doesn't open and the address doesn't appear in the bar? (IE v6)
Can anyone help me out?

eh... you have pop up blockers or something on?
maybe it's just taking really long to download, or IE is currently searching for a plug-in to play whatever you've clicked on.
but those are just me guesses. ~;)

try clearing your cache and reboot if that doesn't work

no go. tried it all. It's weird the window comes up but it's just blank.

it happens everywhere . Even here (PVN).
Is there any way to reinstall IE without losing all the settings?

if you go into add/remove programs and click on ie you can REPAIR it.

hmm...
my shot in the dark is to try the "tools > internet options > advanced tab" and enable your java related stuff one by one and try... or just try the 'Restore Defaults' button.

i've had a few people ask me about this - they've installed the Google toolbar, which has built in pop-up blocking... switching it off, or allowing it for the site helps. strange that people install software without checking what it does!

I had some spyware or something called "roing" and "visual engine" it makes your cpu idle at 100% ever since then things have been screwy.
