I can change the background and the text . Is there any way to modify borders and possibly change the default gray color of the selected item when moused over?

thanks for the link, but I didn't see anything relating to my question there. I've been looking all over for this one and experimenting with the CSS myself, still no luck. I'm beginning to think it cannot be done.
