great time of year to go. temple bar is where all the tourists go, baggott street has some great pubs, one of my favourites is keohoes on south an street.
Nightclub wise there is Sin which is full of knackers but serves beer till 6am, leeson street is also a good haunt for late beers. Head to Jonny foxes in the wicklow mountains for the trad session.
I'd also recommend getting out of the city and see the country, its small, you can drive acroos it in half a day. galway is a great city with great pubs, limerick has come of age, but i'll let you in on a little secret, the town i was born, dungarvan is an undiscovered welth of great pubs and beutiful scenery.Im homesick now

How long will you be over for?
A few standard dublin gallery things:
Chester Beatty Library, a museum dedicated to historic prints. I love this one.
http://www.cbl.ie/home/IMMA - http://www.modernart.ie - meh!
Hugh Lane Gallery - w/ Francis Bacon Studio : http://www.hughlane.ie/
actually this could go on and on. If your here for a few days there loads of stuff to do - if your around for longer head out to Galway, cliffs of moher etc. There plenty of castles and lovely countryside (weather permitting)
Other than that you may just want to catch a few gigs and drink a lot.....

try the "boardwalk" along the liffey, where you can enjoy a cold cappucino beside a scab covered junkie.

head west m'boy! anywhere from cork to derry along the coast is beautiful.
if you've time try union hall in west cork - stay here: www.mariasschoolhouse.com - go whale spotting, night-time sea kayaking, eat organic delights, freshest of fish...a magical spot and very cheap accomodation.
dublin is ok - museums etc but then get outta there.

avoid the west. its a medieval cesspit.

I have friends living in a tiny place called Portumna, over towards Galway. So have ventured all around there. Fabulous scenery, beautiful, if you can visit Galway - do. Very friendly. the only set back is -- its rains so often, the moss grows on cars!
