**photoshop crashing help

so restarted this morning...and then tried to open photoshop and it won't open...gets to loading everything ...finishes loading fonts and then completely dissapears like it was never started...
uninstalled it and re-installed it and got a message saying:
you currently have photosho's primary scratch and win's primary paging file on the same volume, which can result in reduced performance.and then it continued doing the same thing...loading and then crashing/dissapearing...
i can't change the photoshop scratch without it opening...
and i have no idea what a paging file is on XP
help please?

I had the exact same error, search in google with the keyword photoshop crashes on startup or something similar.
You will see you are not alone as I was not in my situation. I am sorry I couldn't think straight what was causing it and how I did solve it, but it is there in the google.

i just reformatted...can't you call adobe and ask the ? =)
