When I applied for my first web job ever a few years back, I spilled coffee over the recruiters laptop. I was so nervous and couldn't keep my arms where they should be, apparently.
I got the job, though. Ha!

What happened? What was so horrible about your interview?

my first interview ever, while showing my work, i was asked: "oh.. and where did you get this one?"
sigh.

spilled coffee! ouch.
my interview was just weird, it was for a web developer / video job for a manufacturing company. i showed up to the interview to find out that the person i was meeting had went to lunch with some of the other office people. so the secretary phoned him and he said he totally forgot and was on his way back.
so i wait for another 25 mins and he finally comes in, and gives me some schpeel about a meeting, and is obviously chaffed that he missed his lunch.
so he asks me " do you know html? do you know web database?" then says that he wants me to write 5 things i like about their website and 5 things i dont like , and they will decide from that. all in all i dont think the interview was over 2 minutes.
it was , just weird

i had the fire alarm go off during one interview. and i had to discuss my portfolio going down the stairs to exit the building.

Think of it as him failing the interview. If the guy was a jerk or incompitent you're better off in the long run not working for him.

i had an interview where the guy didn't do any of the talking. he was english and just got here(ny) so i was trying to make him feel comfortable. i had no idea how it went. 3 months later he called. i got the job, and then the entire time i worked with him he refused to speak to me. i thought why would someone hire me if they didn't like me so much? then found out later, he didn't want me to take the job because he wanted to leave and felt bad about bringing anyone else into that environment. he apologized later and told me that. very strange character.

I haven't ever really had a bad one - I'm quite good at interviewing and can most often take charge of an interview. I think that.

I think I had an interview at the exact same company, 2 days after you. I didn't get the job either... They said they needed someone with more experience in database management. The company name starts with "C", right?

waynepixel: "...and I then told him to stick his job up is ash and work out."

I interviewed for a flash developer position and showed my work, talked with one of the principals of the company for like an hour. I felt it was going really well. He called me three days later and asked if I wanted a job in sales for their company. WTF?

i applied for a webjob once and asked for flash experience..
when I flashed a couple of times they told me it would be better for me to go home again..
- mrdobolina0
how could they hold it against you 4cy, did they have a sign that said 'no wiener flashing'?
- stewart0
so:
no flashing or mooning during a job interview the next time!
- mrdobolina0
haha stewart, that sign is on bass road.
