Hello! I'm looking for some nice motion work done by the UK based artist group TOMATO. I heared they did some amazing video's and stuff... Where can I find some of their work online? www.tomato.co.uk doesn't really show much.

They did a lot of visuals for Underworld, as I remember it there's a lot of their work on the Everything Everything DVD... http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obi…

Tomato are stuck in time, and are very dated, try looking at these places for decent stuff:

some great links there, phatlee.
also like michael gondry and cunningham, they've got some very popular dvds out there at the moment.

dated perhaps but still one of the most innovative collectives in recent time... one of the only firms ive ever heard of to fire their own clients! one of my all time favorites... their books are still today very inspiring

I agree with pepe..
lets not confuse dated with "not trendy" or "unoriginal" they do different kinda stuff thats all..just because you dont do the vector styled animations doesnt mean they are dated..
:)

They haven't progressed though...they still remain in their style just like Brody and Carson...Design is always changing and progressing, and I personally feel they haven't.

i think they are more avant garde than ever based on snippets of work they've put out. they seem a lot more experimental on a conceptual level than even visually which is what we all seem to judge each other by

i used to love tomato's work. but i haven't seen any new stuff of theirs in a while.
are they still going on?also, always wanted to go on one of their seminars, but they never seem to happen in the uk.
kind of weird when they're based in the uk themselves.
any reason for it?by the way, found this link on their site:

Tomato memebrs are VERY gifted artists. I also think Tomato is full of shit.
- pepe0
every design firm is full fo shit, its what we get paid for......to give meaning to art....
- phatlee0
When they were popluar in the 90s they came to our university to do a talk, and they were so full of shit. Their work was new at the time, but it all looked the same, and it still looks like that now. John Waricker was a bit of a hippy, he kept all his notes in a kwik save carrier bag!
- clint0
for all shit talking agencies, i agree. i used to hate it when it used to be fashionable to have an 'our philosophy' link on your site, and just come up with some crap about new media and future branding talk and how super über visionary you are. they still do that, but at least they don't call it 'our philosophy' anymore, well most of them i hope...

Thanks for the links guys! I don't know much about them, so I can't really join the discussion... but it's nice to read some opinions about their work.
