How are the costs for Flash Websites these days?
1000-3000g? More, I guess for more complex site?
Unsure how the market is nowadays and what firms are charging. Any advice would be much appreciated...Thanks!

totallly depends on how involved it is and the quality of the build.
hourly rate x hours involved usually is a good place to start

So would flash designers nowadays cost $40-50/hr? or say if you had 5 years experience with flash, would you be $100/hr?
But the hourly rate x hours is a great idea. Thanks..

$50-75/hr is fair, $100 if you're a stud or heavy on the actionscript.
The rate x hours method is a great starting point, but we always spend more time than we budget.
The best thing I can recommend is to try and pull a budget figure from your client and then tell them what you can do for them with that much money. If your work is good enough, they'll bite.

a firm (or someone who does this as their full time job) charging $1000-$3000 will go broke and homeless very quick....

i know a couple of companies that charges 1000-3000 (for instance 2A and pixelranger and etc.) i usually charge high to keep the web design market value high then to lower prices and push quanity, that will eventually destory the web design world into inflation. (like computer parts everyone is selling them so low now) but ya just use best judgement and reasonable pricing that you can explain yourself to your clients. its bests to show em your storyboard on how the process will be so they can get an idea what kinda labor you'll into and all. but all in all you wanna always make sure is flashf or them? is it for their target audience? talk to them about it. sometimes it not about making flash sites for them cuz its higher pay. its about repeat customers and refers cuz of your quality work and honesty. works for me =)

Thanks for the advice. Giving them the best show of work, i.e., putting storyboards, going that extra step, does help maintain the Higher cost per project and shows that you are worth that amount. Will keep these things in mind.

for a good idea, go to www.neostream.com and look at the contract link. there will be a drop down box that says budget and you'll be surpise how much the selections are. trust me i charge my clients around these prices but i never rip them off its all out of good work and quality, taking good care of them too.

3k is not lots of money for a flash site.
I'm sure 2A is much more than that, more like 30k.
