I know you can do somthing like this in PS/fiters/pixelate/color halftone
But it is not the same!

It's a pattern right? Make a vector one.
Either that or you could build a time machine and travel back to 1996 and steal one from Cheesie McDesigner's desktop.

how do you make a halftone fill a shape? but not just dots..like the shape without the dots... ?

Image mode: bitmap
under method use custon pattern
make your own small black circle and define it as a pattern (under edit)
this will give you somthin similar

play with the layer effects.. Normal > color burn.. try that one out..
you have to handmake the circles..

play with the filter in
filter/pixelate/color halftone, you may need to lay a quick mask down to get it right though.
