Greetings.
I've started a magazine and now, with Issue 2, I've decided to stop losing money and perhaps break even.
My question is, now that I have my media kit, where do I send it?
Individual companies? or perhaps their advertising agency also decide where the ads go?
Who makes the decisions?
Cheers,
Brandon

I guess you make the decisions if it's yer mag? What type of mag? Whos the audience? Need any art for it :)

haha, not quite what I meant. I maent, who makes the decisions to buy ads in my magazine?
Bug: issue 2 is pretty packed, but submit some stuff and you might just get in issue 3!

hehe sorry...yea i've seen you post that mag before...i would love to submit for issue 3...as far as getting people to buy ads in yer mag, I would think it would be the marketing teams decision, i wouldn't know where to start tho.

Anyone have an media contacts @ Diesel, Puma, Paul Frank, anyone who markets to 15-30 year old trend setters?
Also, any contacts at large ad agencies to send our media kit to would be of a great help.
Cheers,
B

a girlfriend of mine puts out The Hippopotamus here in Toronto. Its free and its seen around the city so alot more people will pay for ads for a free mag since it will get in more peoples hands. yYou can check out some of the info at http://www.hippomag.com/
i hope this helps you a little.

i hate to break it to you, but i doubt you are going to break even at issue 2. i have known alot of people that ran mags and it take a while to build everything up. and the majority of then never broke even (but they got to write it all off)
