is it pointless to have more then 2GBs of ram with PS? i have a G5 and need more memory for the type of work I do, i have 2GB now but need more.
heard something about it getting all weird and crashing when there is over 2GB of RAM. hope the hell not.
thanks in advance for any info.

I think Adobe addressed that issue already with the last update. RAM can never hurt. I have 1.5GB in on my sytem (G4) and assigned partition of 5GB's of hard drive space as the first scratch disk. Adobe uses the RAM first and then the 5GB next then moves along if need be. Most likely unless your making billboard size files- PS will never even use all of the 2GB of ram you got- but if your working on other major things with RAM hogging apps- the more the merrier...

actually i do work on Billboards. I do large scale design work, mostly illustrations for vehicles and Trailers:
most of my files are like 500MB to whatever. all 1200dpi. Scratch Disk usually gets up to about 2GB, I have a 160 LaCie external drive that I use for a Scratch Disk.
Guess it couldn't hurt to put more ram in my machine, too bad it costs so damn much right now. have to get them in pairs.
