If you're serious (I can't tell)... hazing is a sort of "rite of passage" for initiation into a group. Sports teams, fraternities, and gangs generally involve such a practice, justifiable by the history of the organization and the fact that most others usually had to go through it to get in.

no doubt, the kid didnt even get jacked in the face, big deal. they were just messing with him, it got kinda hectic when the kid got hit with the chair but otherwise it wasnt that hardcore.
