I have a bit of a story to relate.
Long, long ago, in an interweb far, far away, a community theatre website had a page at Angelfire. I was 16. They asked me to slap a quick design together using frames. It isn't very good, and I'm extremely ashamed to post it, but we've all done things we aren't proud of, right?
If you can deal with Angelfire pop-ups (I personally can't, and I admire anyone else with the same convictions), it is located at http://www.angelfire.com/wy/wypl…
Now, this is not a good website, but I continued to maintain it rather than redesigning it because they weren't paying me and I don't have a lot of free time. I received an email a few weeks back saying I would no longer be maintaining it, and they had another person to redesign it. I moved 600 miles away since the first design, and they wanted someone local.
The new design can be found at http://www.wyandotteplayers.org
I am going to binge on chocolate and wish I didn't have to work at 8 tomorrow morning so I could get wasted.

Don't be sad Jen. At least you never managed to use as many fonts as the new "designer". I think that's a sin... pretty sure it's in the bible. "Ye shall not use an excessive amount of typefaces, or be damned!"

Oh, I'm trying to not let it get me down. After all, it needed a redesign... and now, it's off of my shoulders.
You're right. Good God, COULD there be more fonts on that page? I would have preferred an entire page in Comic Sans.

Ha ha ha - comic sans. That's funny.

It's a nice example of a clean, well-crafted site by someone who aspired to create something from within her heart, using technology that has since grown to be categorized as 'outdated'; Only to be replaced with something new that aspires to be wonderful, though not of the same heart, yet once more is blessed with technology that has since grown to be categorized as 'outdated.'
Well hey sugar, it's all good.
Download your last site update and archive it. I don't have the first website I ever made because that PC exploded. Would've been cool 50 years from now.
Cherish it.

I'll agree with kbags on the first point, but the new site is really just a sin.
- kbags0
Wait, I messed that up. What I was trying to say was that Jen's story tells the tale of a ...
PREV MSG.

That's a sweet suggestion, kbags, I think I will.
Someday, I'll look back on it and smile. I still smile a little about it today. It's the end of an Angelfire era. I at least applaud them for getting a (*gasp*) domain name. I tried to encourage them to do so back in the day, but a board of 50+ individuals who wouldn't know how to send an email if you paid them had no concept of professionalism. A website is a website, right? They're moving in one good direction, at least.

It's all good, kbags, I think I took your first comment the way it was intended to be. No worries around these parts! :)

- jrust0
I'm all about that animated car. Crappy graphic? Make it move! No one will ever know!
I can't believe this was actually done by a "design firm". How do they sleep with themselves at night?

i've still got my first websites.
i'm still to ashamed to post them.
- jrust0
Oh, that wasn't even my first. My first will not be posted here.
I thought about it for awhile before actually posting it - hence the huge disclaimer part of my story.
